NO. 4 BEARER CORPS
EQUIPMENT HANDED TO Y.M.C.A
A meeting of members of the National Reserve (also known as the No. 4 Rearer Corps) was held in the Y.M.C.A. on Monday evening, and it was unanimously resolved to hand over all equipment, and cash in hand, to the Nelson Y.M.C.A. Mr Harkness, the secretary of the Y.M.C.A., returned thanks for the generous gift, and hoped that some old members woidd join up as honorary members of the now organisation, and assist in instructing the present generation of new members.
The equipment comprises bandages, splints and stretchers, and two ambulance boxes, suitable for about 25 members, and £1 2s Id in cash, enough to equip the first aid case. It was interesting | () li wir reminiscences of the old days and of the generous help of the local medical men in giving lectures, especially Dr. Jeffries, who was the corps leader and general instructor.
