TROTTING AFFAIRS UNIFORMITY IN ALLOTTING FIXED PENALTIES RESOLUTION FORWARDED TO N.Z. ASSOCIATION, (By Telegraph—Special to "The Mail”) CHRISTCHURCH, 2nd June. To the monthly meeting of the board of the New Zealand Trotting Association Mr H. A. Pierce, secretary of the Winton Trotting Club, forwarded the following resolution, which was passed at the last meeting of that body: “That in the event of the present system of handicapping being continued, it be a recommendation to the New Zealand Trotting Association to convene a meeting of all trotting handicappers in the Dominion to a place in Christchurch during the August carnival week to discuss the best means to arrive at uniformity in allotting fixed penalties, and to deal with any other matters arising out of handicapping which would be of benefit to the sport.” “In submitting the suggestion,” wrote Mr Pierce, “my committee is of opinion that such a meeting would greatly help to liave the rules interpreted correctly, and would also assist, to do away with the dissatisfaction that has been shown in some quarters with the new system.” It was decided that the resolution was a matter for the New Zealand Trotting Conference. / AUSTRALIAN RACING WEIGHTS FOR VICTORIAN GRAND NATIONALS (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) (Received 3rd June, 8.50 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day.
