There swift rushes always meant danger and enabled Waimai to score three times viii quick succession. Y.M.C.A. were bunching too much to be very effective, while offside play also spoiled several chances. Waimai conceded a penalty corner and Weldon netted Y.M.C.A.’s only goal. KIWI V. WAKATU Kiwi proved 100 good for Wakalu, having a runaway victory of 8_ goals to .1 From the initial bully Kiwi quickly started short, snappy passing which proved too much for the Wakatu backs to cope with. Wakatu forwards as a unit were nob pulling together as well as usual, their attacks being mostly solo efforts. In this respect Kelly showed out and came close to scoring on one or two occasions. Wright, on Wakatu s left wing, also made some good runs, but Ins centres were intercepted by Kiwi s hard hitting full-backs. Kiwi forwards were working with clockwork precision and were well supported by the backs, the half-time score was 4 to nil.
