. THAMES, 2nd May. The secretary of the Waiomo Park Committee was charged in the Magis-. trate's Court with establishing a lottery, in which the prize was a. £5 note, to purchase; an area outside the borough for a campings site.; A queen carnival was conducted, and permission was obtained from the Minister of Internal Affairs,to raffle, steel negravings. The: committee considered that a fivepound note, was a steel engraving,- but on- the police protesting the tickets were withdrawn from sale and the raffle was stopped.
