Archdeacon .T. 1L Dart being in (lie chair. There was a fair attendance of contributors. The annual report and balance sheet was received and adopted. The retiring trustees, the Von. Archdeacon J. R. Dart, Mrs Dyson and Mrs Satchel! were re-elected.
The Veil. Archdeacon .T. R. Dart was elected chairman for the ensuing year. The annual report for the. year was as follows: “The trustees held 12 meetings during (ho year. There arc at present 24 children supported by the Institution, 14 girls and 1 boy at St. Andrews and 9 boys at Wakarcwa. During the year six children were admitted and sixteen discharged. The subscriptions received this year amounted to £233 16s sd, of this amount the Misses Davidson and their helpers have, collected £142 13s 3d, (he Diocesan Appeal contributed £42 Is Od and the remaining £49 Is 6d is from various donors. A bequest of £IOO was also received from the estate of the late Mrs E. Hunter Brown. The subsidy receivable on such subscriptions and donations amounts to £233'16s 5d and on the bequest £SO making £233 16s 5d in all, of which £66 18s Id is still to be received. The borne is still under Ibe capablo management of Misses E. Ferguson and It. E. Woodward.
“The statement, of income and expenditure shows that the finances of tho institution have gone hack £59 Os 4d during the year, hut this is more than accounted for bv the amount spent to repair the damages caused by the earthquake in June last. The Home has also been painted during the year.”
MATRON’S REPORT The matron reported ns follows: “The year 1929 has gone by very quickly in our Home life. There was practically .no sickness during the year. The.social side of the work lias received attention. The annual concert was held in May and proved quite a success. A children’s party to which the children invited a school chum was hold in August. Early in October the Barnardo Garden Party was held, and thc'annual prize giving took place in December. Tl\p Masonic Lodge finished up the year with a grand Christmas party for the children. The children did quite well at' school,, all passing their respective examinations with the exception of two small children. At Christmas we bade farewell to four of our older girls. They have all gone to positions and I trust they will do well and prove a credit to St. Andrews. To the many people who give so generously to the institution I offer my grateful thanks.”
