SYDNEY HEIRESS
REACHES AUCKLAND AS A BRIDE
(By Telegraph—Press Association)
AUCKLAND, This Day,
On a recent visit to Sydney a Devonport resident, aged 28 years, met and became secretly engaged to a Sydney heiress about to come of age. He could not settle down on his return to the Dominion and left by an early steamer for Sydney, where they were soon quietly married on the girl's 21st birthday. A big reception was subsequently held at the Hotel Australia.
The couple reached Auckland this morning by the Makura. The bride is charmed with her future home. In the course of an interview by a "Star? representative the bride expressed the opinion that the fact that they were a honeymoon couple escaped notice aboard the Makura. This is not confirmed by the other passengers.
