TRAIN STRIKES VAN
ACCIDENT AT WAIMAUKU (By Telegraph—Free* Association) '.'.. AUCKLAND, 7th April. Cuts on the head and one leg were received by Albert A. Tate, of Waimauku, shortly after noon to-day, when a motor van he was driving was struck by the engine of a south-bound train on a railway crossing at Waimauku. The car was thrown in the air by the cowcatcher and hurled clear of the line. It is reported that Tate was watching a i north-bound train which was at the station, and so failed to see the other train. - The van was wrecked. '
