PLUNKET BENEFIT

TO-NIGHT'S ENTERTAINMENT A final reminder is given of the unique dramatic entertainment to be given tonight at tho Majestic Theatre by Miss Blake's company of nine of Wellington's leading artists for the benefit of the Plunket Society. The company has been playing to packed houses in Wellington city and district, and both "The Post" and "Dominion" were lavish in their praise of the excellence and versatility of the entertainment, and the high standard of dramatic art reached by the performers, every character being well sustained. In the course of the evening a number of varied items are introduced, the costuming throughout the three playlets being excellent. In regard to one of the playlets, "The Tinder Box," one commentator said: ' 'lt was all fun of the most delightful character, and so well played and gaily costumed that it made a distinct hit, Miss Beryl Earle's singing and dancing calling for special commendation, while the comic recitations given between the casts were both clever and uncommon."

Owing to the very fine programme to bo submitted and the fact that Miss Elizabeth Blake and her company are generously giving their services absolutely free to assist the funds of the Nelson Branch of the Society (which are at a rather low ebb at present), the committee look forward with confidence to a large audience to-night.
