(To the'Editor) Sir,—Some few years ago the Government of New Zealand offered a reward of £IO,OOO for the.means of extermination of the festive blackber.ry. No person so far has been able to understand ,whv the amount was not ten millions, and why said amount should not liavo been invested in war-bonds, and the interest thereon used as a pension for aged and decrepit goats, the goats being the only ones that can have any chum to the reward.
