'PLANES LEAVE HASTINGS TO

PARTICIPATE

HASTINGS, This Day

At 10 o'clock this morning four 'planes left Longlauds aerodrome to participate in the Hawera pa'geanl. Miss Clifford, in an Avro-Avian machine, had Mrs Richmond as passenger, and took off in formation flight with Captain Mercer, who had Mr Taylor as passenger; Captain Stedman, with Mrs Stedman, in a Gipsy 'plane; and ■Mr Dix and Miss Bennett in a Marlborough 'plane. They fly first to Foxton, then back to Feilding. where they will stay to-night, proceeding to Hawera to-morrow morning. After the Hawera pageant they leave for the Auckland pageant. Miss Clifford will have as passenger from Hawera to Auckland the ground engineer from the Canterbury Club.
