A NEW CALENDAR

The first year of the new Russian Communist calendar is to date from Ist November. 1917. Each year will have 360 working days and five revolutionary holidays, the working year of 360 days being divided into four quarters of 90 days. Each quarter is subdivided into three months of 30 days. Two days taken from January and March are added to February. Sunday is abolished. It is expected that the weekdays will be called, "Hammer.' "Sickle," "Sun," "Sheaf," and "Star."
