JOURNEY TO WYNDHAM
TERRIFIC HEAT

(Received 2nd April, 9.45 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. All yesterday Smith and Shiers, with a police party, trekked towards Wyndhani over a hazardous track in terrific heat from the spot where the City of Sydnev was forced down. The party had to traverse 110 miles, including many detours, owing to the roughness of the terirtory. They travelled by truck, car, and horseback and in some places on foot. They were expected to arrive at Wyndham at 6 o'clock last night, but no word of their arrival had been received in Sydney early this morning. PIPER AND KAYE SYDNEY, Ist April. Piper and Kaye effected repairs and returned to Longreach. They are leaving there to-morrow for Norromine and they expect to arirve at Sydney on Thursday.
