MANAWATU LEAD RANGITTKEI IN FIRST INNINGS

In the Hawke Cup cricket match Manawatu in their first innings against Rangitikei made 295 —Gallichan 63, McVicar 53, Ongley junior 50, Pacey 48. Bowling for Rangitikei, Smith took fbur wickets for 110, Hodder two for 33, Barton two for 38. Rangitikei in their second innings had one wicket down for 64 runs at the close of the day’s play. Barton 30, A. Cameron not out 32, D. Cameron not out 1.
TO-DAY’S PLAY The Hawke Cup cricket match Manawatu v. Rangitikei was recommenced this morning, Rangitikei continuing their second innings. When the score was 88, R. Cameron was bowled by Gallichan. His total was a well-com-piled 35. Hodder wiped off the deficit on the first innings with a cover drive. D. Cameron and Hodder continued to bat attractively. The score at the luncheon adjournment was two wickets for 198. Further scores are: R. Cameron b Gallichan 35, Hodder not out 62, D. Cameron not out 64, extras 7.
