INTER-PROVINCIAL EIGHT OAR CHAMPIONSHIP

DECISIVELY WON BY OTAGO

(By Telegraph—Press Association)

AUCKLAND, This Day.

The interprovincial eight-oar rowing championship was won decisively by Otago by four lengths. There was a good contest between Marlborough and Auckland for second place, which resulted in the South Island crew crossing the line half a length ahead of the local men. Wellington also started. Otago had a lead of four lengths at two miles, and held this over the remaining mile, winning without bustling. .Marlborough from the last position in the early stages made a sturdy finishing effort.
