TWO MAY CLOSE DOWN

(Received 11th March, 10.30 a.m.) MELBOURNE, This Day. Owing to decline in London market prices for lead, silver, and zinc, two of the Broken Hill’s mines may close in the near future. The two mines employ about 850 men, and unless these are willing to make some concessions the mines will shut down.
