WORK IN ENGLAND
MATTERS FOR ATTENTION
As to the work awaiting me in England, the following are some of the matters which will receive mv attention: — Ihe freight contract which may take up considerable time. Refrigeration, especially on overseas ships. The vexed question of russet will bo specially dealt with and in this connection experimental cases of various varieties of apples and pears are being packed and forwarded to me in London. I am also negotiating with the Empire Marketing Board on behalf of the Fruit Research Committee. Such negotiation, if successfully arranged, will mean considerable benefit to the fruit industry of New Zealand.
I have to visit East Maling station and report on their root stock experiments. In addition, of course, there is the marketing, handling, storing and distribution of our fruit.
THANKS TO NELSON MEMBERS
I would like to take this opportunity of acknowledging how much I am indebted to the lion. 11. Atmore for the way lie has placed his services at my disposal at all times, and my calls on him have been numerous during the last twelve months.
Mr Black, member for Motueka, takes a keen interest in the fruit industry and whenever approached lias always been most willing to help. His assistance has been very valuable.
