TWO BROTHERS SENTENCED

Two brothers, L. and S. Montefiore, have been convicted of conspiring to defraud the Ocean Accident Guarantee Corporation, and were sentenced to imprisonment, L. Montefiore received a sentence of two years, but if he is able to pay £IOOO and the costs of the j r>;ecution, it was recommended that his sentence he reduced to six months. Stan'ey Montefiore was sentenced to nu< year's imprisonment, to be released mi bond on making restitution of £2(10. The Judge said that the costs of the prosecution would probably shock the public conscience when it knew how much tire case cost in the administration of the law. These costs totalled £l.->IS.
