FLYING BOAT SERVICE

WELLINGTON TO NELSON

(By Telegraph—Press Association)

WELLINGTON, This Day

It is announced this morning that in October of this year it is anticipated that a tri-weekly flying boat service for passengers and mails will be operating between Wellington and Nelson. The journey will take an hour and the cost will be £2 10s. Mails will probably be carried for 2d and 3d an ounce.

A Wellington-Auckland service is not being contemplated at present owing to the eflicient service given by the Limited express. Services to be operated first are those which do not compete with railways, and in fact serve them.
