FIRE AT WAI-ITI

HOUSE COMPLETELY DESTROYED

On Saturday afternoon a five-roomed dwelling owned and occupied by .Mr I • A. Cropp, at Wai-iti was completely destroyed by fire. There was no one at home at the time of the outbreak the family having left half an hour earlier for Mahana. Hop pickers in the vicinity were the first on the scene and were successful in saving the contents of three rooms.
