AUSTRALIANS ABROAD
CREDIT FACILITIES CURTAILED (United Press Association—By Electrio Telegraph—Copyright) (Received Bth March, 10.50 a.m.) SYDNEY. This Day. Tho announcement by the Commonwealth Bank that the privilege of cashing Australian notes abroad had been withdrawn and the statements regarding the embarrassment of persons taking notes abroad, led to the belief that an embargo had been placed by the banks upon the granting of credit facilities to Australian travellers desirous of journeying overseas. This is not so. The granting of credit facilities has been curtailed, as it has been for imports. It may have been refused in certain cases but there has not been a general refusal. In many cases the traveller has not been able to obtain all the facilities he required.
