NELSON CENTRAL SCHOOL
SWIMMING SPORTS The Nelson Central school held swimming sports at tiie Municipal Baths yesterdav afternoon. There were no less than a total of 270 entries for the events and'the function w-as successful in every way. Mr 11. Wood, chairman of the School Committee congratulated the school upon its performance in the recent combined schools carnival and stressed the importance of being able to swim. There was a fair attendance of parents. Mr B. W. Lane, of the local swimming association, gave invaluable assistance to the following officers, haridlcapper and starter. Mr J. Grigg; judges, Messrs Lane, McClune and Miss M. Nightingale; marslialls, Miss Shirtliffe, Miss Worley and Messrs Dowgray and Beilby: recorder, Miss J. Neve.
