SYDNEY, sth February. Charges of conspiracy arising from the affairs of the Property Investment Company, Ltd., were heard against John Muiin, solicitor, and William John Beckett, company manager, Allan Eraser Howden, and Harold George Crase. The prosecution stated that the company was formed in 1925 and embarked in a house endowment system. The public subscribed £31,000 which had all gone. Gunn was to receive £2OOO yearly as governing director, and have absolute control and enjoy unusual privileges. Witnesses, in evidence, stated that Bowden induced them to take shares in i lie company, which he described as re-' turning 10 to 12£ per cent, interest. The case against Crase was struck out. The hearing is unfinished.
