"ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTED"
LABOUR MEMBER AND GOVERNMENT THE UNEMPLOYMENT PROBLEM (By Telegraph—Special to "The Mail") CHRISTCHURCH, Ist February. "I am becoming absolutely disgusted with the whole outfit. I don't think Ministers are taking their jobs as seriously as they should. The unemployment situation is very much more serious, not only in Christcluirch but in various parts of New Zealand, than they pretend to realise." So said MiArmstrong, M.P., to a reporter to-day "As far as I can gather as fast as they put men on to one job they put them off another," said Mr Armstrong, and according to the latest statistics there are only ahout 1000 more men on public works jobs now than there were when the Government took office 13 months ago. If they cannot cope with the situation now what are they going to do in the winter months? If there's one department that wants a good shaking up it's the Public Works Department. It seems to have neither method nor organisation."
