Presumably insane owing to domestic worries, Joannes Harountunin, aged 43, an Armenian labourer, ran amok and killed five people, seriously wounding two others. He then committed suicide, all within ten minutes. He walked out of his lodging, met an Armenian, whom he \hot fatally with a revolver. Without a word he rushed back to his home and wounded his wife. He then entered a neighbour's and murdered an 85-year-old woman and her two daughters, dangerously wounding a third. The husband of one is dead. The woman ran in meeting the murderer, who fired a bullet through their hearts. Harountin then walked out on to the terrace and blew out hia brains.
