SOUTH AFRICAN TOUR (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright) CAPETOWN, Ist February. The Prince of Wales contracted a cold on the journey from Johannesburg but is much better. After breakfast and a rest he played a round of golf at the Country Club with his equerry. It is deemed disadvantageous that he should go "down the Crown mines, as arranged. The train stopped to allow him to visit.the battlefields of Belmont, Magersfontein, and Modder river. University girl students desirous of presenting a bouquet at Johannesburg on behalf of fellow students were not allowed by the police to approach the Prince, but a seven-year-old girl slipped through the cordon and offered ii buttonhole of carnations. The Prince shook her hand warmly and the crowd cheered loudly at the courteous act. The Prince left in the evening benefited by the invigorating air. He arrives at Buluwayo on Monday morning when a golf match lias been arranged and leaves at noon for Salisbury, Beira.
