GLIDING FEAT

The first glider ever launched from an airship slipped off the tail of the dirigible Los Angeles cruising at 3000 ft altitude. Seated in a 30011) monoplane glider. Lieutenant Ralph Bamby, the only licensed glider pilot in the United States navy, gracefully circled Luke Hurst, crossing and rccrossing the field a dozen times, and landing fifteen minutes after he left the airship.
