WAKATU V. ATHLETIC LANOBEIN'S DAV' OUT 119 RUNS, SIX WICKETS AND TWO CATC'I IKS Taking advantage of the holiday the Wakatu and Athletic senior teams played an all-day championship match on Saturday, Yvakatit winning by 33 runs on the first innings. Wakatu won the toss and sent Athletic to the wickets. Kin/.ett and Itnlfo were lucky to reach 49 and 51 respectively, a number of chances being dropped. Athletic had one wicket down for nine, but two for 78 looked a lot better for them. However, the remainder of the wickets went, fairly cheaply. Johnston (25) and Hull (14) being the only others to reach double figures. Langbein was in form witli the ball, taking six wickets for 51 runs in twelve overs. Langbein opened for Wakatu and made more than half their total. He played a chanceless innings for 119 runs, which included fourteen hits tci the boundary. Wakatu made a poor start four wickets being down for 40 runs and five for 68. However, Hurst, joined Langbein and held his end until the total reached 137 for the sixth wicket.
