A RUNAWAY CAR

GIRL STRUCK AND SERIOUSLY INJURED (By Telegraph—Press Association) WELLINGTON, This Day. A car parked in Devon street, which has a very steep grade, suddenly broke away last night and struck a girl, Leila Woods, who was coming up the street, and carried her with it through a picket fence and hurled her through the door of a house, smashing the lock. Her right leg was fractured and she suffered serious injuries to the neck and shoulders. Her condition is serious.

Leila Woods, who was injured by being caught and hurled through the door of a Devon street house by a runaway car, is reported to be in a serious condition.
