During 1928 no fewer than 1.247 people were killed in the streets of London, all hut 85 of them by motor vehicles. The most terrible thing about the deaths Is thai 368 of the killed were over 60, and 259 were children under 15. Half (he vict'-ms of the speeding up of London traffic are old men, old women, or children, which shows that the rest only escape by superior agility.
