CHRISTCHURCH SENTENCES

CHRISTCHURCH, 10th May.
In the Supreme Court prisoners sentenced were as follows: Frederick Richardson, for assault causing bodily harm, to two years’ probation. The Judge said that prisoner’s hasty temper evidently caused him to fire a shotgun at John Armstrong. Arthur Staee, for indecent assault on,a little girl, was sentenced to seven years’ hard labour, and on five charges of housebreaking, etc., he was sentenced to two years’ gaol and declared an habitual criminal.
Robert James Mitchell, for theft, .was sentenced to three years’ reformative treatment.

Worsley was found guilty of perjury in the Porirua case, and was remanded for sentence.
