AUTUMN HANDICAP TO KING LU (By Telegraph—Special to "The Mail") AUCKLAND.. 10th April. There were no defections from the acceptors, of the Autumn Handicap, but Stormy and Lady's Boy, were bracketed, though not shown as such in the race card. Kino; Lu wound up favourite with £1,337, the bracket. Stor-jy and Lady's Boy, carrying ,£1,267, and High Pitch £7Ol. Beginning smartly Lady's Boy was soon, well clear in front from Wenday, White Fung, Stormy. High Pitch and Tidal, but when the top stretch was undertaken Lady's Boy led from White Fang, Flying Juliet, Wenday, Stormy. Eager Pose. High. Pitch, King Lu, and In Die Shade. Lady's Boy was well clear of White Fang turning for home, where Stormy, Eager Pose, Branson, King Lu and Wenday were following in that order. Once straightened up for the judge. King Lu came along very fast, and getting to Lady's Boy and White Fang about 100 yards from the post, he camo on to win by a neck from White Fang, who beat Lady's Boy by half a length. Stormy was a good fourth and behind him in order came High Pitch, Wenday, Flying Juliet, In the Shade, Tidal, Eager Rose and Branson. After the race a protest was entered by T. J. A. Carnioni, trainer of Lady's Boy, against White Fang, on the grounds of interference a few yards from the post. The Judical Committee, after hearing the evidence, decided not to disturb the judge's placings. VALUE HAS SUBDIVISION'S MEASURE ATI six carded for the Mount Eden. Handicap went to the post, and the wind up saw Subdivision favourite with £1,093' second choice being Lady Que:; with £9BB. while the winner, Value, carried £716. I.adv Quex dwelt at the start and lost a'lot of ground, being at Lie tail of the field all the way. Value began best, leading along the back from Subdivision, Che-lone, British King, and Marble King. Subdivision ranged alongside Value crossing the top and the pair entered the straight on terms clear of Chelone and British King who were together. Marble King was six lengths back and Lady Quex st'll further away. In the straight Value held Subdivision and won by halt' a length witli Cliolone a neck away. British King. Marble King and Lady Quex followed in that irder. OWNER FINED ]?ov failing to notify the club that he held an interest in Stormy and Lady's Boy, Mr Harvey Nicholson was
fiuod £5. Stormy and Lady's Boy were bracketed on the machine in the Autumn Handicap.
