STILL NO NEWS REPORTED FINDING UNFOUNDED SEVEN 'PLANES SEARCHING (United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright; SYDNEY, V lOUi April. There is nothing . further from the Southern Cross searchers. With seven 'planes now engaged in the Southern Cross search oflicial opinion is that additional machines would be of little use, and that efforts should be concentrated on ground searches. The aeroplane Canberra to-day searched westward from Wyndham to Admiralty Gulf. The pilots investigated fires, but saw no sign of anything but smoke. (Received 11th April. 8.55 a.m.) SYDNEY, This Day. Yesterday's search for the Southern Cross was again, negative. It appears that the reported finding of the monoplane was unfounded. Even Pilot Woods, who brought the message, doubted the reliability of the report. _ Four big land parties are searching the rugged country , between Drysdale and Port George. Until the motor ship Koolinda arrives nt Derby to-night there are only eight cases of petrol there. A largo number of fires were seen by Holden from the Canberra yesterday, but these are stated to be owing to a war between coastal and inland natives. £ The Goulburn Moth arrived at Longreach.
