VALUELESS CHEQUES

(By Telegraph.—Press Association) INVERCARGILL, This Day. Charges of issuing valueless cheques to various firms totalling £497 were preferred against Jamesena Spiers and Henry Harley McNattv before Justices of the Peace. They obtained goods to the value of £BS from Thomson and Beattie, drapers, goods valued at £165 from the Bristol Piano Co., and goods valued at £230 from W. Strang and Co., furniture dealers. They pleaded guilty and were committed to the Supreme Court for sentence.
