(Received 10th . January, 11.5 a.m.) DELHI, 9th January. A Peshawar report states that the Shinwari revolt has been quelled.
Large sums were distributed among Mohmands and influential tribes in Eastern Afghanistan in an attempt to win them over to the Government side. The Mohmatid and Ivhugiani tribesmen sided with the King in the recent tribal gathering and have now returned home to Jalalabad under control of Sirdar Alnnadali Jan, ex-Governor of Kabul who it is rumoured has been declared King of Eastern Afghanistan. The road from Peshawar to Kabul will be opened shortly and traffic has been resumed between Jalalabad and Peshawar.
