IN CROWDED SYDNEY STREET

A WOMAN KILLED

United Press Association—By Elootrio Telegraph—Copyright

SYDNEY, 9th January

During lunch hour crowds to-day witnessed a bolting lorry down a steep incline in Hunter street, Sydney. Nobody was in charge of the vehicle. Hundreds of voices shouted warnings, but several pedestrians did not hear them and were struck down.

Mrs Carmichael, of Summer Hill, was killed, and two girls and one man suffered severe injuries. The lorry came to a standstill against a stationary car which was crushed with the impact.
