The sub-collector uf Customs lias made available returns showing the <|iumtitv il' coal shipped from Newcastle last year. These bear further witness to the lost trade in coal in recent years. Exports of eik.il to interstate and oversea ports totalled 2,885,958 tens valued at £3.391.361. The output is 700,GG0 tons less than that of last year, when the coal trade was admittedly depressed.
