MAPHA CLUB The annual* meeting of the Mapua Bowling Club was held recently. Mr B. (!. Goodwin presided over a large attendance. It was resolved to proceed with the erection of a pavilion. The matter of a water supply was left in the hands of the committee. The election of officers resulted : Mr B. G. Goodwill, president; Mr A. McKee, vice-president; .Mr J. Napier secretary; and a committee composed of Messrs A. Neave, T. Janies, C". A. Higgs and I). Blanche. At a meeting of the committee held later it was decided to invite the Brightwater concert party to hold a concert on behalf of the club’s funds. The date of the opening of the green was left over. Quite a number of members gathered on Election day and spent an enjoyable afternoon on the green, the ladies providing afternoon tea. The club promises to provide a longfelt need in this district and affords an opportunity for settlers and their lady friends to spend pleasant afternoons together. MAITAI CLUB
