SENSATIONAL HOLD-UP
RANDITS ATTACK MESSENGERS £3OCO STOLEN United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright _ Australian Press Association MARSEILLE'S, 22nd November. Five masked bandits drove up in a taxi cab to the entrance of the Elgerotuni Sienne Bank, opposite the; Stock Exchange, amid hundreds of people, and held up three messengers taking money to a large factory on the outskirts of the town. The messengers resisting, the bandits fired from pistols and tore pouches from the messengers. They then re-entered the taxi and drove off at a furious rate. The crowd at first thought it was a movie stunt, but found one messenger, Loudier, aged '66, dead, and the others seriously injured. The bandits secured £3OOO. Latest reports state that three bandits were captured near Avignon.
