NO CHANGE IN PARTIES
ONE-VOTE WIN IN BAY OF ISLANDS
WELLINGTON, This Day
Tiie political situation underwent no change yesterday. Additional results from official counts, while producing a number of interesting incidents, left the relative positions of parties unaltered. The Uniteds retained three seats considered doubtful.
The Southern Maori election resulted in a tie, and on the casting vote of the returning officer went to luiti Makitanara (United). The Country Party retained Bay of Islands seat by one vote. Temuka is reported to be safe for Mr T. D. Burnett (Reform), although tiie official returns have not come to hand.
The official count is rapidly approaching completion, and provided the final returns for the three Maori seats do not hold up the proceedings the fifteen results outstanding should be known to-night.
