DASHWOOD DEVIATION
LOAN PROPOSAL CARRIED

The Awatere County Council's £IO,OOO loan proposal for the Dashwood deviation was carried by a large majority. The work is estimated to cost £45,000, the Highways Board contributing £30,000 and the Marlborough County Council £SOOO. The deviation will lessen the distance between. Blenheim and Seddon, .which is a section of the Pic-ton-Christchurch highway, by 4i miles.
