DESTRUCTIVE FIRE

BUSINESS PREMISES AT.MOTUEKA

The preinfees of Messrs York and Sons, coach builders and engineers. Greenwood street, were totally destroyed by lire in the early hours of this morning. The lire was first noticed by an exchange attendant at the Post Office and the alarm given. When the Brigade arrived the structure had already collapsed and there was no hope of saving the contents, which consisted of valuable machinery, three cars, one truck, and one motor cycle. An old car outside the building at the back was also badly burnt. The cause of the outbreak is unknown. The building and machinery were insured with the Alliance Assurance Company for only a small sum. and in consequence Messrs York and Sons are heavv losers.
