Society and the Cawthron Trust Hoard. The gathering was held in the School of Music, in/ charge being made for admission. A large audience assembled to hear the lecturer. Mr Win. C. A change in the personnel of the Society's officers lietame necessary during the year. Dr. TiUyard, our President, forwarded his resignation in the month of April, consequent Oil his removal to Australia. In accepting the resignation with regret, the, Committee passed ■: resolution congratulating Dr. Tillyard on his appointmnt as Chief Commonwealth Entomologist. To fill Dr. Tillyard's place Mrs Moncrieff was elected, and to the position on the committee thus rendered vacant, Mr A. Tonnoir was appointed. The number of financial members at the date of the report was 35 full members and 26 associates. The actual membership of the Society is, however, greater than these figures' indicate, as there are several subscriptions outstanding. The statement of accounts shows that after allowing for the annual levy on the 'Transactions" and a few minor liabilities, there will be a credit balance of bout £8 to carry forward to 1929. During the year a lantern screen has been purchased and placed permanently on the wall of the Society's room. The thanks of the Society are due to all who have contributed to the past season's programme, to the hon. lanlernist (Mr E. Gourlay) and the hon. auditor (Mr T. Rigg), and to the "Evening Mail" for the excellent reports of the various lectures which have appeared in its columns.
