THE REAL PLATFORM
OF THE SOCIALIST LABOUR PARTY

The Socialist Party has issued a manifesto of 14 clauses, which its candidates arc presenting as their policy. Here are another 14 clauses which 'are to be found in the official platform of the party, adopted at its annual conference, and which are not in the manifesto they are seeking 1 lie electors’ votes on; nor is the objective which reads “The socialisation of. the means of production, distribution and exchange.” 1. The enactment of the initiative, the referendum and the recall. 2. The abolition of the Legislative Council. 3. A Slate bank to act as a central bank with full control of;note issue.
4. Extension of the State Advances Olliee to provide all credit necessary for primary production. , 5. Stale-owned shipping service. 6. Stale ownership of all branches” of insurance.
7. Establishment of State farms for the purpose of producing tho people’s foodstuff's.-
8. The extension of public ownership of national utilities and the speedy- na(ional control of the food supplies of the people. Where national ownership of an industry is effected, all labour for such industry and at least half the board of control in each ca.so shall be appointed by the union or unions affected. 9: Nationalisation of the' medical services, with five medical, dental and maternity attention.
10. Perfect equality between the sexes in all departments'of life. 11. The repeal of the Military Service Act and the Defence Act. 12. The extent of disarmament or defence to be determined by the circumstances prevailing when the party assumes office as 1 lie Government of the Dominion. r
, 13. The- industrial and political unity of (lie workers of all countries, for the purpose of superseding capitalism by an industrial democracy, and of forming, not a League of Nations, but a League of Peoples.
14. The unity of all workers in all countries in a World Federation of Peoples for (lie purpose of peacefully organising all the resources of (be world for the peoples of tbe world ; and thus ending the exploitation by private capitalism. Affirming of Ihe principle of self determination to tie applied to all races for the purpose of terminating the ruthless plundering of nations by modern Imperialists.
