SYDNEY, 24th October. A young married woman last night accepted a proffered car ride with half-a-dozen young men. She told the police that when the car reached the scruo land at Matraville, en route to Botany, she was dragged out of the car and criminally assaulted by all six. Her screams attracted notice, i.ha police appeared, and the assailants decamped. Two men, Jack Simpson, aged 23, a bookmaker, and Charles Webb, aged 22, a farrier, were arrested and charged with outraging the woman. They were remanded.
