MAN'S LEG TORN OFF

CAUGHT IN A BELT (By Telegraph—Press Association) GISBORNE, This Day. Robin Bruce, aged 23, was terribly injured at Mokowiwi Station, East Coast, this morning, through being caught in the belt of a shearing shed engine. When the belt came off Bruce attempted to replace it. but his leg became entangled. lie was thrown right across the shod, one leg being torn off at the hip, and the other is believed to be broken. Bruce, who is a recent arrival from England, is in a critical condition, but never lost consciousness.
