TOWN BOARD MEETING
At the ordinary meeting of the Taliunanui Town Board held in the Town flail, there were present: Mr F. W. Groenslade (chairman), Messrs C. I. L. Bell G. Cunningham, J. L. 0. Day, 1. Hobern, L. Ingham and M. o'Sullivan. Accounts amounting to £B4 8s Gd were passed for payment. CORRESPONDENCE From the District Highways Council, No. 11, ' enclosing circular regarding wearing of metal surface under tflf.fnc. From Health Inspector enclosing his quarterly report. » ' From' the Minister of Public Works enclosing motor vehicle supplementary Regulations, 1928. From the Waimea Electric Supply Company enclosing Mr Climie's report on their power station. From the Municipal Association advising that all remits for inclusion in Order Paper for the conference must be forwarded not later tlian Ist December. From the Tahuna Sands Association asking for permission to rope off Beach road from 10 a.m. on the occasion of a gala to be held on the beach on 22nd October (Labour Day). From the Falcon Prospecting Oil Company submitting estimates for a water supply. GENERAL BUSINESS The following resolutions were passed: That the letter from the Falcon Oil Company be referred to the water committee for investigation j that Che owners of sections be requested to clean out their ditches between Roto street and Parkers road; that the letter from the tWaimea Electric Sivpply Company be received and the company be thanked for the report; that the cleaning out of the ditch through sections 19, 22, 23, 24, be. held over till the next Board meeting; that the Town Clerk bo authorised to have the ditch in Muraitai street cleaned out; that the application from the Tahuna Sands Association to rope off Beach road be granted under previous conditions; that permission bo given to the Five Brigade 'to extend the fire engine shed another six feet on the section.
