Following a meeting of Cabinet yesterday afternoon, the Prime Minister announced that the General Election will bo held on 14th Novembor next.

This gives only five weeks for the campaign, which is expected to be in fi;ll swing almost immediately. It is expected that the writ, which prescribes the date on which nominations will close, will be issued about the middle of next week. It is returnable within fortv days.
