Mr Bert Manny, of Motueka, who lias been on a visit "to Australia with Mrs Manoy, returned to Wellington by the Maheno this week.
Mr and Mrs James Anstice, of Nelson, who have been holidaying in the Old Country, leave for New Zealand this month 'and expect to be home for Christmas.
Mr J. If. Thorp, orchard instructor, Nelson, accompanied by Mrs Thorp, is leaving to-night. for a holiday trip to Australia. Mr A. T. Douglas, orchard instructor, will be in charge during Mr Thorp's absence.
Dr. R. J. Tillyard, Chief Commonwealth Entomologist, with Mrs Tillyard and their daughters, leave Nelson by the. Ngaio to-night to connect with the Maheno for Sydney. They are on their way to their new home at Canberra, the Federal capital. When Mr Eric Snow, Nelson's All Black', arrived this morning, he was met at the wharf by members of the Nelson Rugby Union and friends. An official welcome will be given on Saturday night at the Velma Hall, in conjunction with the Rugby Union's annual presentation of trophies.
