ABSOLUTE MUSICAL PITCH
It is an open question whether a sense of absolute pitch is an advantage or not. For singers it is obviously advantageous so long as pianos and other instruments conform to standard pitch. Put difficulties are met with as soon as the singer attempts to sing from a copy printed, in a key other than that in which the accompaniment is being played. Then it is that we are inclined to judge the singer with relative pitch as the more; Versatile fellow. In any case a sense of absolute pitch is comparatively uncommon.
