NAVAL AGREEMENT

ITALY’S REPLY

United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph—Copyright . Australian Press Association

LONDON, Bth October. A message from Paris says the Italian reply to the naval agreement was received at Paris. It is expected to create a storm. It virtually accuses England and France of combining to control the Mediterranean. Tire “Morning Post’s” correspondent says the Note makes it clear that the proposals are unacceptable. SUMMARY OF NOTE Australian Press Association—United Service. (Received 9th October, 9.40 a.m.) LONDON, Bth October. A summary of Italy’s Note telegraphed to Downing Street indicates that the naval agreement is not sufficiently wide and should he extended to armies and aircraft. The full Note arrives by mail to-morrow.
